ABSTRACT

Within the field of metrology applied to automotive, speed measurement and its traceability represent an important aspect. Different on-board and off-board meters were developed in the last years to measure the speed of vehicles. These are based on different technologies and characterized by different accuracy and issues to be faced. This Special Session aims to represent a forum for researchers and practitioners from industry, academia, and government interested in methods, systems, and devices for speed meters realization and calibration.

TOPICS

Topics of this Special Session include, but are not limited to:

  • Methods and systems for designing, optimizing and characterizing vehicle speed meters;
  • New methods for vehicle speed meters;
  • Method and devices to optimize the performance of existing vehicle speed meters;
  • Data processing and advanced techniques for on-boar and off-board vehicle speed meters;
  • Calibration methods to allow the traceability of vehicle speed meters;
  • Metrological characterization of calibration methods for vehicle speed meters;
  • Fault Diagnosis of speed meters.
